The new 2021 World Badminton Tournament schedule shows that some tournaments have been postponed from the first and second quarters, and a few second-level tournaments have been cancelled.
Thomas Lund, Secretary General of the World Badminton Federation, said: “Our focus is to hold as much as possible the Asian season in Thailand in January. We hope to organize some tournaments in this way to ensure that there is a better match in 2021. Feasible event arrangements. The BWF also confirmed that the 2020 Total Badminton World Badminton Cup Finals, which was postponed earlier this year, will be held in Aarhus, Denmark in the 41st week of the season, and will form the Danish season together with the 2021 Danish Open.
Regarding the 2021 Total Badminton World Sudirman Cup finals, the World Badminton Federation stated that it is in close consultation with the Chinese Badminton Association and the host city of Suzhou to determine the date.
It is reported that after the announcement of the schedule for the rest of the 2021 tour, the BWF will announce the date of the TOTAL BWF Sudirman Cup in 2021 as soon as possible.

As previously announced, the Tokyo Olympic Games Points Qualifying Tournament will restart in 2021. The first tour this year that counts the qualification points will be the 2021 Yonex Swiss Open held in week 9.
The Tokyo Olympic Qualifying Tournament will be extended to week 19, and the Indian Open is tentatively scheduled as the last stop.
