The January Grand Sumo Tournament "Yokozuna Dohyoku" held at Meiji Jingu in Tokyo has been canceled due to the spread of the new coronavirus.

At Meiji Jingu in Shibuya Ward, Tokyo, Yokozuna is dedicating to the ground in hopes of the safety and success of the place before the first place of sumo wrestling in January.

This year was held on January 7th, and Hakuho dedicated the "Shiranui type" and Tsururyu to the "Unryu type", and many worshipers watched it.

It was scheduled to be held in January next year, but according to Meiji Jingu, the infection of the new coronavirus is spreading again, and the Japan Sumo Association prohibits wrestlers from going out just before this place. Therefore, it was decided to cancel.

The first place of sumo wrestling will be on January 10th at the Kokugikan in Ryogoku, Tokyo.
