Yuki Kawauchi, who has turned from a civil servant runner to a professional, participated in the Hofu Yomiuri Marathon held in Yamaguchi Prefecture, and finished second in a time of 2 hours 10 minutes 26 seconds.

Kawauchi has now entered the Guinness World Records for the 100th full marathon race of less than 2 hours and 20 minutes.

Kawauchi started the full marathon at the 2009 Beppu Oita Mainichi Marathon, and this is the 107th race.

At a press conference after the race, Kawauchi said, "Anyone can participate in the full marathon 100 times, but I am the only one in the world who can participate 100 times within 2 hours and 20 minutes. I will continue to do my best." I did.
