Bestaven has taken off (a little)

“Attack by Yannick Bestaven!

Thomas Voeckler on bike 1 ... ”Well, let's not exaggerate either, but the skipper of Maître Coq IV had a rather good night, leaving behind his pursuers on the podium, Charlie Dalin and Thomas Rettant, a little.

His lead over Charlie Dalin (Apivia) has almost doubled compared to Saturday night, now 90.6 miles (167.8 km), against less than fifty the night before.

The third, Thomas Rouillard, for his part, is 150.7 miles (279 km).

Let us recall in passing that Bestaven will also benefit from a 10-hour penalty reduction on arrival for having hijacked his boat to help Kevin Escoffier.

Classification

1. Yannick Bestaven, Maître Coq IV

2. Charlie Dalin, Apivia, 90 miles from the lead

3. Thomas Rouillard, LinkedOut, 150 miles from the head

Peaceful night in southern New Zealand

Charlie Dalin is very annoyed at wasting time on his head and would no doubt like the race to go a little faster.

But at the moment, in the south of New Zealand, it is rather dead calm in the Vendée Globe.

“We have great conditions: the weather was great all day, it's nice as soon as there is a little sun, because the temperature is rising well,” explained Dalin in the night session.

I'm almost 15 degrees in the boat, and you can see birds.

The boat does not move much, the sleep is efficient… ”But soon arrives, for him, a battle with the exclusion zone to the south to avoid the icebergs.

"A fuck a day" for Damien Seguin

A hair behind the first peloton, Damien Seguin is in a phase of depression.

No weather, just personal.

In his morning session, the skipper of Apicil confessed to having been surprised by a squall "which he did not see coming", causing him serious problems with a sail.

I am trying to find solutions, it is not really easy on board;

I haven't slept on it, I've since torn myself away to put the boat back in the right direction.

“The guy was tired from the intense physical effort.

For now, I'm studying the question, but it is certain that this episode will leave traces on the man and the boat.

I will try to minimize the losses.

We know the adage "A shit a day", and it alternates between the small and the big.

There, I came across a bigger one ”.

Hang in there.
