“The WADA Athletes Committee is disappointed with CAS’s decision not to impose stricter and longer-lasting sanctions against Russia in line with those recommended by WADA.

The Russian authorities have consistently acted in bad faith.

Athletes from the world and from Russia have felt the impact of this.

Athletes want pure sport, but this is not possible when organizations are actively involved in manipulation and deception activities.

The sanctions that individual athletes receive for anti-doping rule violations are strict.

We expect organizations and administrators to adhere to the same standards as we do, but this has not happened, ”the WADA website said in a statement.

On December 17, CAS issued a decision on the legality of WADA sanctions against Russian sports.

The arbitrators took the side of the agency, but cut the terms of the sanctions in half.

Russian athletes will not be able to compete under the national flag at major competitions until December 16, 2022.

Earlier, Koloskov admitted that he was satisfied with the CAS verdict in relation to Russian athletes.
