A nasty accident took place during Samuel Dupratt's training run in the Italian city of Val Gardena on Thursday.

The American crashed badly and was picked up by helicopter and taken urgently to a hospital in the nearby town of Bolzano.

What the injury forecast looks like is still unclear, but according to Skiracing, he must have injured one or both legs.

The accident was discussed during the competition management's meeting on Friday.

"Very worried"

- We are very worried about Samuel's accident.

On behalf of the competition organizer, I wish him a speedy recovery and that he feels good again as soon as possible, says Rainer Senoner, chairman of Salong Classic Club to Skiracing.

Dupratt would actually have participated in and competed in the men's downhill race on Saturday, which is broadcast on SVT1.
