An intense competition weekend awaits the Swedish biathletes in Hochfilzen before it is time for the Christmas holidays.

SVT Sports expert, Björn Ferry, believes that the Swedish men in biathlon feel satisfied in the team before today's sprint, which starts at 14.15 - especially since they only won the relay a few days ago.

- Then we will remember that they have been out competing for a month, so some probably feel that they long for Christmas.

This last week is a struggle, says Ferry in Morgonstudion.

Surprising that the gentlemen are so good

When Björn Ferry sums up the season, he describes it as incredible for the Swedish biathletes - and it is above all the men's success that he highlights as surprising.

- On the women's side, you follow the long-term trend, it is great but not entirely surprising that they are so good.

But that the guys would be this good, I do not think anyone expected.

And of the Swedish men, Ferry lifts the 23-year-old Sebastian Samuelsson - as the biathlete you believe in the most.

"Ponsiluoma has taken a giant step"

- Samuelsson took an Olympic silver three years ago but then it has gone a little worse and then they thought: Shouldn't it be something of him?

But this year he has really risen and is second in the overall world cup.

It's really fun.

But Björn Ferry also lifts 25-year-old Martin Ponsiluoma.

- He has taken a giant step.

Two years ago he was an average rider and now he is a world skier.

Ponsiluoma has taken two big steps two years in a row, and now he rides faster than Sebastian Samuelsson.
