White smoke on the Vendée Globe!

After two weeks of clever calculations and cross-checking of information on the race, the international jury decided the question of compensation after the rescue in the open sea of Kévin Escoffier on December 1st.

They were three in number to be deported after the latter triggered the distress beacon: Jean Le Cam, Boris Hermann and Yannick Bestaven.

It is finally the Quimpérois of “Yes We Cam!

Who had arrived first on the scene, allowing the other two to resume the race.

We remember this incredible rescue mission in the middle of the 40th Roaring;

mission which had lasted several hours, the time for Le Cam to manage to get Escoffier on board.

The international jury of # VG2020 has communicated its decisions concerning the compensation awarded to the skippers who intervened in the rescue operations of @KevinEscoffier, between the afternoon of 30/11 and the middle of the night of 01/12.

Bestaven flies away, Le Cam comes back strong

Here are the long-awaited results: Boris Hermann will be able to subtract six hours from his real finish time, Yannick Bestaven 10:15 am and Jean Le Cam 4:15 pm.

If it is difficult to draw what the actual ranking could be if we removed these compensatory times, we can still say without fear of making a mistake that Yannick Bestaven, current leader, will take off his pursuers.

As for Jean Le Cam, fourth 450 nautical miles from the leader, he should make a nice jump in the standings and could even steal third place from Charlie Dalin.

But all of this is obviously to be taken with a grain of salt.
