New twist in the Mediapro affair.

According to L'Equipe, the production entity Mediapro France launched a strike call on Wednesday to protest against the fiasco of TV rights returned by the Sino-Spanish group to the League and to hold its boss, Jaume Roures to account. , strangely discreet for a few days.

Mediapro France, which has around 100 employees, is the entity responsible for the “production” part of the group.

This one, different from Mediapro Sport France to which the employees of the future former Telefoot channel are attached, has already existed for several years, in particular to produce the matches broadcast at the time by beIN Sports France.

The production trucks stuck in the hangars?

"The CSE [Social and Economic Committee] asked for Jaume Roures to come as soon as possible so that he could explain to us in person his plans for the future of our company and our jobs following his decision to return the L1 and L2 rights, thus sacrificing the Téléfoot channel and the employees of the two French companies of the Mediapro group.

Jaume Roures not showing the will to respond to the demand, we call on all staff to go on strike from Thursday morning, ”writes the inter-union CFDT-UNSA in a press release sent Wednesday to the management of Mediapro.

At present, we do not know if the employees of Téléfoot will join the movement, nor if it will actually be validated by a vote.

If this were the case, and if the movement is extended until the weekend, the broadcasting of the 16th day of Ligue 1 and Ligue 2 could be largely impacted since Mediapro produces and broadcasts 80% of the matches this week. -end.

"The teams from the south are motivated, they would be ready to block the trucks in the hangars", even confides an employee to our colleagues at L'Equipe.

The only solution for Jaume Roures would then be to bring in technicians and trucks from Spain.
