The Tokyo Olympics were scheduled for this summer, but were postponed until the summer of 2021 due to the corona pandemic.

Despite the fact that the pandemic still has the world under control, the local organizers and the International Olympic Committee (IOC) aim for the games to be decided next summer, and for it to take place with an audience.

32 percent: Set

But the Japanese people do not seem to be as convinced that it is a good idea.

The Japanese public service company NHK conducted an opinion poll this weekend, which showed that only 27 percent of the respondents (just over 1200 people) want the Olympics to be decided as planned.

31 percent answered that they believe that the Olympics should be postponed further, while 32 percent believe that the Tokyo Olympics should be canceled altogether.

This is a relatively large difference from a survey conducted in October.

At that time, 40 percent thought that the games should be arranged as planned, while only 23 percent thought that it should be canceled.
