"It is not impossible that he (Neymar) is playing, we will try everything," said technician Thomas Tuchel on the eve of facing Lorient, for the 15th day of the Championship.

Coach Thomas Tuchel spoke on Tuesday of the possible return of his superstar Neymar, injured in an ankle, for the Ligue 1 shock in Lille on Sunday, where Marquinhos, who is recovering from a hip injury, is also expected.

"It's not impossible that he's playing, we'll try everything," said the technician on the eve of facing Lorient for the 15th day of the Championship.

"I can not say yes or no, we have to wait for an exam tomorrow (Wednesday) and after we can say," he continued.

Tuchel could have it available sooner than expected

PSG said Monday that its Brazilian playing master, injured Sunday by a tackle from Lyonnais Thiago Mendes, suffered from a sprained left ankle.

His exams were however "reassuring", according to the club.

The media L'Equipe and RMC have mentioned a return of Neymar for the first match of the year 2021, on January 6 in Saint-Etienne.

But Tuchel could have him available sooner than expected, in Lille where he will play big.

The Parisians, beaten by Lyon (1-0), fell to third place, while the Northerners, in shape, took the lead.

On the ground of the Pierre-Mauroy stadium, the German coach could find his captain Marquinhos, hit in a hip and who will miss, against Lorient, his second consecutive match.

"For Marquinhos, I really hope he can play in Lille," he said.

"I really believe he can start the match"

For Kylian Mbappé, who could only play the last half hour against Lyon because of muscle fatigue, Tuchel hopes to align him from the kickoff against the Merlus.

"I really think he can start (the game) tomorrow (Wednesday) with us, but during this season we had a lot of surprises in the last training session, so I'm very careful," he said.

PSG also confirmed the expected absences of Abdou Diallo (hamstrings), Pablo Sarabia (ischios), Mauro Icardi (adductors) and Juan Bernat (knee).

Julian Draxler is back.
