The Japan Sports Agency has allocated more than 85 billion yen to the third supplementary budget for this year as expenses for measures against the new coronavirus for the Tokyo Olympics and Paralympics.

On the 15th, the government decided on the third supplementary budget for this year, and the Japan Sports Agency posted 85.7 billion yen as expenses for corona measures for the Tokyo Games.



Specifically, of the additional expenses associated with the postponement of the Tokyo Games, a part of the Paralympic expenses and corona countermeasure expenses such as the maintenance of the athlete inspection system will be 71 billion yen, and the host working on the exchange business with overseas athletes. The cost of corona countermeasures for local governments called towns is 12.7 billion yen, and the cost of corona countermeasures for national sports facilities such as national stadiums is 2 billion yen.



Of these, the government will bear the cost of inspecting athletes and residents and the cost of securing public transportation and accommodation facilities used by the team.
