[Explanation] Walking into a skateboard theme park in the center of Guiyang, Guizhou Province, the "post-90s" girl He Jiaqiao is teaching skateboarding to skateboarders who came to learn.

Since 2013, she has traveled all over Guizhou to do skateboarding promotion activities. With 7 years of persistence and hard work, she has gathered thousands of skateboarding enthusiasts in Guizhou Province to jointly change people’s stereotypes of the “unpopular” sport of skateboarding. Let more people participate.

[Explanation] In 2010, He Jiaqiao had the first skateboard in his life.

In her impression, she was extremely lonely when she first came into contact with skateboarding. At that time, there was no place to learn skateboarding in Guiyang. He Jiaqiao and three friends could only imitate and learn through online videos.

Just look at what other people do on the Internet and then we imitate it. In fact, the (action) is not necessarily right, but in the environment at the time, you didn't have a better environment or better choice, but you could only do it like this.

[Explanation] There is no professional venue and no skateboards can be seen in some bustling squares. In order to change this situation, He Jiaqiao and his friends decided to promote skateboarding.

Change starts with the stereotypes of people around you about skateboarding.

I think whether it’s around us or in China, maybe we are engaged in subculture, and the clothing of (skateboarding) may be different from our traditional ones. It is more oversized, more streety, and more of its own style. In the eyes of many of our traditional parents, he would think that these children are a little unsatisfied. What (I) emphasized to skaters is that we go out skateboarding. In the public eye, I think we must pay attention to our own words and deeds. You have to do it first. Good yourself.

Because when someone sees your bad behavior, he will not say how you are as a person, he will say how the skater is.

[Explanation] In He Jiaqiao's view, to change the public's opinion, in addition to regulating one's own behavior, it is also necessary to let the sport develop.

In order to find a way to balance dreams and reality, He Jiaqiao sold her house and invested in a skate shop despite the opposition of her family. However, she was not skilled in her skills and attracted many questions.

Everyone will feel that you are not qualified to do this, because you are not qualified to play well.

However, I think that although I don't play well, I am willing to learn. Moreover, in this culture, it not only has technology, it also has a part of culture, and then you can also improve yourself from all aspects.

Then I respond with strength and respond with action. I feel that it will be more real and meaningful than verbal responses.

[Explanation] In the face of doubt, He Jiaqiao made up her mind to practice kungfu and went to Shanghai, Beijing and other places to learn and improve her skateboarding skills. At the same time, she also actively cooperated with officials to organize a number of skateboarding events in Guizhou Province to let skateboarding influence The force is getting bigger and bigger.

I have done a lot of competitions and activities, and then I invite everyone into the group, and then I can send some videos to discuss with each other, and then everyone will have a gathering point.

At the earliest, there were 4 people and 5 people, and then slowly increased, more than one hundred and two hundred, to (now) more than 1,000 (persons).

[Explanation] In 2016, skateboarding was included in the official competition of the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games.

With more and more attention to skateboarding and the development of various professional skateboarding competitions in China, He Jiaqiao and her friends began to show themselves to the public and achieved good results.

Today, He Jiaqiao has formed a professional training team and has been recognized for taking skateboarding as his career.

[Concurrent] He Jiaqiao, Secretary General of Guizhou Roller Skating Association

For us, we are actually looking forward to it, because this is the first time that skateboarding will be on the stage of the Olympics, and then for the first time it will be seen by more knowledgeable people.

Then, maybe in the process, everyone will gradually understand the skateboarding culture, and then will slowly participate in it. For the future, I feel that it will get better and better, and we are also working hard to make ourselves more and more it is good.
