French professional football Paris Saint-Germain's goalkeeper Neymar is injured in an ankle and will be unable to play for the time being.

Neymar was injured in the second half of the 50th minute at home in Round 14 of League 1 in 2020-2021 against Lyon in Paris, France.

Neymar was deeply tackled by Lyon midfielder Thiago Mendes while breaking through the center of the opposing camp.

It wasn't a tackle aimed at Neymar's ankle, but the ankle twisted as the left foot was accidentally caught between Mendes' feet.

Mendes was given a red card, and Neymar, who had fallen, raised his hand, called the medical team, and struck the ground with his hand, complaining of pain.

Neymar left the ground on a stretcher while his colleagues watched with anxious expressions.

PSG coach Thomas Tuhel said after the game, "The medical team and the team doctor are watching Neymar's condition," he said.

If Neymar misses for a long time due to this injury, it is expected to be a big bad news for PSG, which is aiming for a fourth straight victory in the league.

PSG played a helpless match against Lyon, the championship rival in the match that day, lost 1-0 and fell to 3rd place in the league.

Lyon climbed to second place, with Lille taking the lead after a 2-1 victory over Bordeaux.
