After the loss against Denmark on Friday, it was already clear before the match against Montenegro that Sweden has no chance of reaching the semifinals of the European Handball Championship.

There was still a fifth place to fight for, but it is also distant now.

Not much was true for Sweden in the first half against Montenegro.

Technical errors, miss offensively and a Montenegro who scored goals mostly meant that it was 16-10 at half time in Montenegro's favor.

Eight goal lead

Sweden rose in the second half, and after Montenegro went up to 23-15, the blue and yellows began to catch up.

With thirteen minutes left to play, the distance had shrunk to 24-20, and the chance was there.

But when the margins had to be with Sweden, it went against something, and Montenegro could instead more or less secure the victory with some quick goals.

The victory for Montenegro is their sixth straight over Sweden.

Blohm best forward

Linn Blohm was Sweden's absolute best player going forward and scored seven goals.

On Tuesday, France is waiting in Sweden's last match in the European Championships.
