The Control and Disciplinary Committee of the Russian Football Union (FTC RFU) has officially recognized the match of the 1/32 finals of the Russian Cup between Seagull and Armavir as negotiable.

This meeting took place on August 22, 2018 in Peschanokopsky and ended with a score of 2: 0 in favor of the hosts.

At the beginning of the second half, with an interval of four minutes, the goals were scored by Alexander Podbeltsev and Butta Magomedov.

Later, the circumstances of the match aroused the interest of the Russian football authorities.

The RFU Game Defense Department carried out a check on the fact that the cup match was in compliance with the sporting principles.

The collected materials gave reason to the chairman of the FTC RFU Artur Grigoryants to declare the presence of signs of its contractual nature.

According to the "Championship", the judge who served the meeting, Maxim Matyunin (the younger brother of the referee of the Russian Premier League (RPL) Alexei Matyunin) received a bribe in the amount of 200 thousand rubles for ensuring the result necessary for "The Seagull".

The money was allegedly transferred to the bank card of the girl of the referee by the executive director of the sandy-kop club Oleg Bayan.

Moreover, the transaction took place after the game.

According to Grigoryants, the deal resulted in a biased refereeing.

“The referee made a number of successful mistakes in favor of“ The Seagull ”, which was reflected in the low assessment of the work of the refereeing team of the match by the inspector.

Subsequently, the chief referee of the match illegally received funds from Bayan.

As a result, the FTC established the contractual nature of the specified match and, in accordance with the Disciplinary Regulations of the RFU, made a decision to ban Bayan and Matyunin from any football-related activities for life, as well as annul the result of that match, awarding Chaika a technical defeat with a score of 0: 3 ", - quotes the words of Grigoryants on the RFU website.

In the next round of the Russian Cup season-2018/19, "Chaika" lost in their field to Makhachkala "Anji" (1: 2) and dropped out of the tournament.

At the end of that season, the sand diggers won the Professional Football League (PFL) championship in the South zone and achieved a promotion.

Now the team from the regional center of the Rostov region plays in the Football National League (FNL) and is on the 13th line of the standings out of 22.

On December 1, it was announced that the head coach of "The Seagull" Magomed Adiev was removed from training and leadership of the team.

The reasons for this decision were not disclosed.

In turn, "Armavir" in the summer of 2020 could not pass licensing in the PFL and lost its professional status.

The club entered the amateur competitions of the Krasnodar Territory.

Bayan's reaction to the decision taken against him is unknown.

He did not appear at the meeting of the FTC RFU.

As for Matyunin, the judge plans to appeal the lifelong disqualification imposed on him.

As specifies "SE", the arbitrator intends to apply to the RFU Appeals Committee, and if necessary - to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) in Lausanne.

Earlier it was reported that the investigative department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs is conducting an inspection in relation to Matyunin.

If the judge's guilt is proven, he could face up to seven years in prison.

Matyunin, 32, has served in the PFL and early stages of the Russian Cup since the 2013/14 season.

Apparently, the bosses appreciated his work.

For the last two years, the Muscovite has been judging in the FNL.

The final game in Matyunin's career, at least for today, was the meeting between Krasnodar-2 and Orenburg on September 23 this year in the 11th round of the FNL.

Anzor Kavazashvili, the former head of the RFU expert council on the identification of fixed matches, commented on the decision of the FTC.

“We have already lost the habit of having fixed matches, because the punishments are very serious.

Even with me, the fine reached 50 million rubles for clubs, and for football players - 20 million rubles.

What has now been recognized and found evidence, I think it is very serious, "- quotes the expert Sport24.

This incident is not the only one in the history of The Seagull.

In June 2019, the FTC RFU established the fact of collusion in the match between the sand diggers and the Novorossiysk Chernomorets.

The aforementioned game took place on May 13 of the same year and ended with the victory of the home team with a score of 3: 1.

Success allowed them to issue a ticket to the FNL.

According to Grigoryants, the three defenders of Chornomorets were offered about 1-2 million rubles for the defeat.

The players' actions caused discontent among their teammates.

Skirmishes broke out between them right on the field, and then in the room under the stands.

In addition, representatives of the Krasnodar Harvest, which competed with the Chaika for entering the FNL, offered Chornomorets mentor Khazret Dyshekov 500 thousand for winning the scandalous match.

After the proceedings, the coach was suspended from football for one year, and three Novorossiysk players were suspended for three years.
