Nick Wojek, head of science and medicine at the British Anti-Doping Agency (UKAD), said he is in contact with pharmaceutical companies and the International Federation of Pharmaceutical Manufacturers and Associations (IFPMA) to determine whether the components of vaccines under development are prohibited in sports and whether the technologies used will create any difficulties in detecting doping.

He noted that WADA's preliminary findings suggest that it is highly unlikely that the RNA or DNA sequences used for such vaccines would violate anti-doping rules.
