- I came, I saw, I won, tweeted Zlatan Ibrahimovic when he announced that he would replace LA Galaxy for AC Milan last year.

It was at the end of last season that Ibrahimovic left California and MLS after two years in the Los Angeles Galaxy.

During 56 games played, he contributed 52 goals and took about as much space in the American press as on the football field.

- To all Galaxy fans - you wanted Zlatan and I gave you Zlatan.

Good luck, he wrote.

Ibrahimovic is not on the list

Despite that, his name is not included when the American Football League lists its 25 best players of all time.

The motivation is said to lie in who "contributed the most on the pitch, was a driving force in the game development and has helped to lay a solid foundation and a course forward".

Ibrahimovic never took home a title with Galaxy, but even MLS boss Don Garber thinks Ibrahimovic has done enough to qualify for the list.

Garber himself, however, was not allowed to vote.

- Zlatan would have been on the list.

He was one of the most exciting and productive players in the short time he was in MLS, he tells CNN.

The list of 25 players was taken out in connection with the league's 25th anniversary.
