FIFA and the United Nations launch a campaign against match-fixing

FIFA and the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime launched a campaign to encourage sport to combat match-fixing.

The FIFA stated that the campaign "aims to enhance players, coaches and officials' knowledge of the secret platforms available to report on the methods used by suspects in match-fixing, and to encourage anyone in football to report if they are contacted to participate in this (manipulation)."

Several players and officials, including Bibiana Steinhaus, who is the first German woman to become a professional referee, have expressed their support for the campaign.
