Martin Ponsiluoma blocked three shots on two shooters in the sprint, but still finished among the top ten.

This is thanks to an incredible speed in the track.

His riding time was 13.7 seconds faster than today's winner Tarjei Bö, who was second fastest.

Ponsiluoma started shortly after the big star Johannes Thingnes Bö and he managed to pass him.

- I was damn motivated on the sprint lap.

I just wanted to catch up with Johannes and then he went so slowly that it was just a matter of walking around, the Swede tells SVT Sport.

- It's absolutely incredible.

I did not think I would ever hear that, says SVT Sports expert Helena Ekholm.

"A very fun hunt start"

Given the fine form, Ponsiluoma is charged ahead of Saturday's hunt start.

Of those who finished before him in the results list, none had more than one boom.

- It will probably be a very fun hunt start, I think, he says.

Sebastian Samuelsson also had a good ride, only Ponsiluoma and the Bö brothers were faster than him on the track.
