Gulf FC announced, during a ceremony at its headquarters in Mirdif, Dubai, that it has joined the second division football league, starting from the current season.

"We proudly announce the emergence of a bright star and a new entity in the sky of Emirati football, the Gulf FC Football Club," the club's chairman, Ahmed Naqi, said in a statement yesterday.

It is noteworthy that Sheikh Maktoum bin Muhammad bin Thani Al Maktoum is the honorary president of the club, while the board of directors consists of: Ahmed Abdullah Naqi as chairman of the board of directors, Ahmed Muhammad Al-Tawash as deputy, Abdullah Omar Al-Ashqar, executive director of the football company, and the star of the national team and former goalkeeper of Al Ain Club Moataz Abdullah, coach of the team.

Naqi added, "This entity is the essence of the interconnectedness and cooperation between the Golden Stars Academy and the Gulf Champions Company for Sports Facilities and Clubs Management," adding that it is based on a qualitative vision related to sports investment in the football field, which is what we see as the future of the game in the country.

For his part, the coach of the team, Moataz Abdullah, thanked the members of the board of directors for their confidence in taking over the leadership of the team, expressing his great belief in the new project, and his gratitude to be one of the makers of the history of the new entity as the first coach of the team.

In turn, the Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors, Ahmed Muhammad Al-Tawash, thanked the rational leadership for its great interest in the march of sports and athletes, and harnessing all the capabilities for it, while the Executive Director of the club, Abdullah Al-Ashqar, confirmed the team's readiness to compete this season in the second division The most prominent candidates for the title.
