After going off the track and a very violent shock, the single-seater driver Romain Grosjean caught fire on Sunday during the Bahrain Grand Prix.

But the Frenchman was able to get out of the car alone, before being transported to hospital.

Huge fear for Romain Grosjean.

The French Formula 1 driver suffered a terrible accident on Sunday afternoon during the Bahrain Grand Prix.

A few seconds after the start, the driver of the American team Haas was caught in a collision and headed straight for a safety rail.

The car instantly caught fire.

The single-seater cut in half

Miraculously, Romain Grosjean was able to get out of his burning car.

His single-seater was cut in half.

The Grand Prix was interrupted and the Frenchman was transported in a medical car.

Visibly in shock, Romain Grosjean was still standing on both legs, although supported by two people.

A few minutes after the crash, the pilot's news was rather reassuring.

He is said to be suffering "only" from broken ribs.
