Argentina and the football world are in great grief after Diego Armando Maradona's death on Wednesday.

Now, reports the Argentine newspaper Clarin, suspicions have been directed at Maradona's doctor, Leopoldo Luque.

According to Clarin, the San Isidro prosecutor's office ordered a search of Luque's home and clinic after testimonies from Maradona's three daughters led police to take a closer look at the drugs prescribed to the football player in recent months.

Heading is currently the equivalent of causing another person's death and negligence.

Luque is expected to testify on Sunday or Monday.

According to Clarin, the prosecution will now investigate Maradona's medical history, where Luque has been the doctor in charge.

Diego Maradona died on Wednesday, aged 60, after a heart attack.
