Jumeirah Golf Estates is preparing to host the 12th edition of the DP World Golf Tournament, from 10 to 13 December.
The championship is held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Dubai Sports Council.
His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum said: "Dubai is one of the best sporting destinations in the world, especially for golf lovers and enthusiasts, which made it the most appropriate place to host the end of the European tour season."
He added: “We are happy to continue hosting world golf champions in Dubai to participate in this championship annually since 2009 under the slogan (The Race to Dubai), and our happiness this year is doubled because the event is being held despite all the challenges raised by the Covid-19 pandemic, which confirms the amount of work that has been done. The UAE and the organizers' efforts are being carried out for the sake of the continuity of the continuation of sporting events, and the preservation of the strength of competition and the safety of everyone.
The final leg and the most expensive tournament of the European Tour season, which is held under the slogan 'Race to Dubai', is the last event in the (Rolex) series for a number of exclusive championships in this tour that witnesses the participation of the best golfers in the world.
His Highness’s patronage comes in line with the rational leadership approach in supporting the sports sector in general and golf in particular, which has contributed to Dubai hosting major tournaments in this sport and attracting elite players, and has become the focus of world attention, especially in the Dubai Ports Tour tournament, in which it participates in a form.
