He says what he thinks, even if it means shocking some.
On the sidelines of the press conference before the trip from Nantes to Marseille on Saturday (5 p.m.), Christian Gourcuff was questioned about the death of Diego Maradona.
"I find it a bit inappropriate that when a person dies, we only find qualities in him," he explained straight away.
It is obviously very sad to die at 60 because it is very young.
Maradona, I admired him.
Technically and virtuously, it was phenomenal.
He was an exceptional player.

God's hand ?
"Very unhealthy"
The Nantes coach is indignant that they only praise today a person who, however, has not always been a model: "He was undoubtedly a good guy, I don't know him, but he has a life that cannot be exemplified.
That's why we have to put it into perspective.
It is not because he died that he immediately became an example for young people.
"
And Gourcuff to get annoyed (a little) when we mention the goal of the hand marked by Maradona in 1986 against England.
"It's very unhealthy the goal of the hand he scores.
It is an obstacle to morals and sports ethics to consider this as an achievement.
I found it terribly out of place to use that as the main weapon [of his career].
