It was the International Athletics Federation's integrity unit, Athletics Integrity Unit, AIU, that determined the verdict after shortcomings in the stay reporting.

Coleman will be suspended until May 13, 2022 if it stands.

"In his appeal to Cas, Christian Coleman has requested that the decision of the AIU tribunal be revoked and that the suspension be terminated or at least shortened," Cas stated in a statement according to Reuters.

Went out shopping for Christmas presents

Coleman has claimed that one of the mistakes is due to the fact that he was out buying Christmas presents in December last year.

He would be available in his home between 19.15 and 20.15.

The AIU rejected Coleman's objection when he showed a receipt from a department store stamped 20.22, which was five minutes from home.

The doping inspector states that he was outside Coleman's home during the entire stipulated time period.
