Roger Schmidt: "The whole of Holland is happy about Mario Götze"

Roger Schmidt has been the coach of the Dutch top club PSV Eindhoven since July.

After two years with the Chinese first division club Beijing Guoan, he was able to gain a foothold in Europe again.

Schmidt had previously had a difficult time at Bayer Leverkusen.

His expulsion in March 2017 was almost emotionless.

Schmidt had made fun of many.

In Eindhoven he can now present himself on a larger stage again, the team is represented in the Europa League.

His biggest coup at first, however, was achieved in early October.

Schmidt was able to convince the clubless Mario Götze to switch from the Bundesliga to the Eredivisie.

Götze himself indicated that 53-year-old Schmidt played a major role in his surprising choice.
