This winter's Champions League game is based on the last Allsvenskan season, and it is the 2019 champions Rosengård and Gothenburg, second last year, who are the Swedish contributions in the tournament.

Rosengård is seeded and will therefore face opposition that is affordable on paper.

The away trips, however, look to be awkward.

The Malmö team's four possible opponents are Lanchjuti from Georgia, Kharkiv from Ukraine, ZFK Spartak from Serbia and Belarusian FC Minsk.

"Just like the situation"

The Ministry for Foreign Affairs advises against unnecessary travel to all four countries at present.

- Right now, all you have to do is like the situation and wait for the draw.

We have emailed the union about travel restrictions.

We have not received any other communication from Uefa, but there are neutral countries to play in designated and it is Cyprus, Greece and Poland, says Rosengård's sports director Therese Sjögran to Sydsvenskan.

- It feels like all the draws are the same mess.

Begins in December

This year's new Swedish champions Gothenburg look to have a much more pleasant away trip, but as an unseeded team, the opponent will be all the tougher.

Both Danish Bröndby and Czech Slavia Prague are teams that Gothenburg can defeat, but the lottery can also fall on either French Paris Saint-Germain, semi-finalist in the Champions League last season, or the star-studded English top team Manchester City.

The round of 16 finals starts on 9–10 December, with return meetings on 15–16 December.

Seeded teams start on the away field.
