British Prime Minister Boris Johnson on Monday announced a limited return of the public to stadiums in areas of England least affected by the coronavirus pandemic, following the end of lockdown on December 2.

According to the government, the stadiums will be able to accommodate up to 50% of their capacity with a limit set at 2,000 or 4,000 spectators depending on local restrictions in place.

In the areas most affected by the virus, matches will continue to be played without an audience.

In France, the return of spectators to the stadiums will not take place before the beginning of the year 2021 and it will have to respect a gauge which will be linked to the capacity of the stadiums or rooms, affirmed the Elysee last week.

The return of the public "is not possible in December" because of the evolution of the Covid-19 epidemic, estimated Emmanuel Macron, during a video conference with the sports world.
