Cristiano Ronaldo helped Juventus to a 2-0 victory in the Serie A game against Cagliari on Saturday with two goals.

Matthijs de Ligt made his return to the reigning national champion after a shoulder injury.

Federico Bernardeschi scored for Juventus in the eleventh minute, but that goal was disallowed for offside.

In the final phase of the first half, Ronaldo did give his team the lead with a nice shot in the right corner.

Four minutes later, the Portuguese was again accurate.

This time he worked the ball in from close range from a corner and scored his eighth goal in five league matches.

Halfway through the second half, Ragnar Klavan found the net on behalf of Cagliari, but that goal was canceled due to offside.

De Ligt played the entire match at Juventus and formed the central defense duo with Merih Demiral.

Giorgio Chiellini and Leonardo Bonucci were missing due to injuries.

De Ligt came into action for the first time this season.

The Orange International had surgery on his shoulder in August, after he had been suffering from the joint for several months.

He seemed to be able to return last month, but the orthopedist advised him to rehabilitate a little longer.
