The International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF) announced on Wednesday that the B-World Cup, which was planned to be played in France in April 2021, will be canceled.

This is because there are no resources to be able to organize the championship in a corona-safe way.

- Life and health come first.

With that said, on a sporting level, it's very boring.

But the investment in girls' and women's hockey will continue with undiminished strength, says Damkronorna's national team captain Ulf Lundberg.

The next championship is the Olympics - if they manage to get there

The next championship that Damkronorna is playing now is the 2022 Olympics - if they manage to get there.

- Now we have to turn the chronological order on these two and the big goals.

Now we have an Olympic qualifier that is planned for November next year and the Olympics in February 2022 that we are aiming for.

The A-WC remains so far in the planning but the B-WC is postponed.

What do you think about it?

- It is not my job to have any views on it, but I trust that the IIHF makes the right assessments.

"Glad SDHL has been able to play"

With today's announcement, Ulf Lundberg and company will now sit down and look at what the planning looks like for Damkronorna in the future.

Lundberg also says that he is positive that SDHL has still been able to run despite the corona pandemic.

- I'm just very happy that SDHL has been able to be played as it has done with only one canceled match and half the series has been played.

That's a good thing.
