Teruaki Sato of Kinki University, who was nominated as the first draft by professional baseball player Hanshin, held a debriefing session at his alma mater high school in Hyogo prefecture and stated his aspirations, "I want to play against giant pitcher Tomoyuki Sugano."
Sato, who visited his alma mater, Incheon Gakuin in Nishinomiya City, Hyogo Prefecture, was greeted by about 200 students with a big applause, and the student council president handed him a bouquet.
Sato is one of the best sluggers in the university and will be the first professional baseball player to be a graduate of Incheon Gakuin.
At the debriefing session on the 18th, Sato called on his juniors, "I was able to prove that if I believe in my talent and do what I should do, I will get results. Please do your best toward your goals."
When asked by the students, "Who is the pitcher you want to play in the Central League?", Sato said, "I want to play against the giant pitcher Sugano. I want to hit it because it is the best pitcher."
After the debriefing session, Sato, who responded to the interview, said, "I was happy to be told to do my best directly. I want to show myself playing an active part in professional baseball."
