The European Handball Championship was no exception to the Norwegian restrictions and thus they can not arrange the championship.

But since Sweden would still play the group game and the main round in Danish Herning, they are not so much affected by today's news.

- It does not affect us significantly.

The plan was that the final weekend would be played in Trondheim, but now we will probably stay in Denmark only if they manage to solve so that they can arrange everything with them, says Fogelström.

Are you worried that the championship will not be over?

- The signals we have received are that the championship will be over.

That is what we are preparing for.

What can put a stop to it is if there are further "lockdowns" or if more nations get a big infection that means that there is no player material to be able to play.

Can you complete a championship safely right now?

- The restrictions and adaptations that EHF and the local organizers make are very safe.

Everyone participates at their own risk and anything can happen, but it is a red zone that all troops will relate to, she says.

Low probability for matches in Sweden

Former major player Stefan Lövgren, now CEO of the Swedish association, says that they have received regular updates about the European Championship situation, but have not themselves been involved in any discussions.

How do you look at possibly going in and arranging some European Championship matches?

- We have not received that question, but they have chosen to turn to Denmark, which is the simplest solution.

But is that out of the question?

- It is not possible to answer yes or no right now because we have no idea what it would mean in practical terms with restrictions and other special things.

The time horizon is that it is November 16 today and the European Championships start on December 3, so it falls well on its own unreasonableness, says Lövgren.
