Marco van Ginkel is confident that he can still be of value to PSV this season.
The long-injured midfielder notices that he is slowly getting closer to a return.
"It is really going in the right direction," Van Ginkel told the
Eindhovens Dagblad on
"I feel good and I always have to keep the right balance. Three or four times a week I now join the group and I'm almost there."
The eight-time Oranje-international is rented by PSV from Chelsea for the fourth time this season.
He played his last official match in Eindhoven in May 2018.
Two months later, 27-year-old Van Ginkel underwent knee surgery.
Partly due to a setback in his rehabilitation, he only returned to the training field at Chelsea at the end of last year.
His comeback in competition is still not yet in sight.
"It has definitely not always been easy", he says.
"I don't think it's been healthy what I've been through. After a wrong operation you can berate everyone, but I had to accept it."

'It won't be my motivation and commitment'
Van Ginkel hopes to be able to play a match again this season.
"I want to make my comeback in the course of this season and of course you always want more after that."
"It won't be my motivation and commitment," he continues.
"Later I never want to be able to say that it was because of that. Everything has to be really right now and it will be a matter of the body feeling good."
Van Ginkel has been under contract with Chelsea since 2013, but he never had a perspective with the London club.
In the 2015/2016, 2016/2017 and 2017/2018 seasons, he also came out on a rental basis for PSV, with which he won the national title twice.
