Kira Toussaint has broken the world record in the 50 meter backstroke on the short course at the International Swimming League (ISL) in Budapest on Saturday.
The Dutch came to a time of 25.60 seconds in the semi-finals.
The 26-year-old Toussaint dived seven hundredths below the previous top time, which was held by the Brazilian Etiene Medeiros since 2014.
The Amstelveen also tightened its own Dutch record.
She was fifteen hundredths faster than the time she swam at the European Championship short course in Glasgow at the end of last year.
The ISL is a competition founded in 2019 in which top swimmers from all over the world compete against each other as a team.
