The fact that Sweden lacked four leading players, Amanda Zahui, Regan Magarity, Louice Halvarsson and Kalis Loyd, did not matter against Israel.

In their absence, the experienced sisters Frida and Elin Eldebrink took great responsibility.

The sisters accounted for a total of 20 of Sweden's 22 points in the first period, Frida for 15 and Elin for 5, and played a large part in Sweden leading by twelve points.

- It's a dream start.

Given all the missing players, there is a risk that self-confidence will be shattered.

And then it is even more important to have a good start and this start is perfect, said SVT Sports expert Elisabeth Egnell after the first period.

Frida Eldebrink agrees.

- The start was great.

We came in aggressively in both attack and defense and I think that was the key to us making such a good match and winning so big, she says to SVT Sport.

Finishes the qualifier against Montenegro

Sweden was superior in the return leg and had a strong attacking play against the basket throughout the match.

This in combination with a stable defensive game meant that the Swedes could pull away significantly.

- The defense is great.

There is a personal responsibility and everyone keeps their player in front of them, says Egnell.

Frida Eldebrink landed on 28 points and became the best scorer in the match.

She also scored seven out of eleven threes, over 60 percent.

- It has felt good and we have played well in training and made the best of this situation.

The newcomers have taken in all the information so it has felt good, says Frida Eldebrink.

Next, Montenegro awaits in February in the last European Championship qualifier.

Sweden can afford to lose and still get to the European Championships.

- It feels very promising.

Now you have a golden position in front of you, says Egnell.

The group runners-up and five of the nine best group runners-up go directly to the European Championships.
