New Swedish champions, reigning cup champions and on the eve of another adventure in the Champions League.
In the middle of the gold rush, Gothenburg announces that two of the team's most important players will extend their contracts for another two years - midfielder Filippa Curmark, 25, and goalkeeper Jennifer Falk, 27.
- We are Swedish champions, but we are not happy there.
Now Europe is waiting and then another season.
I want to see how far we can go, how we can build on what we have started now, says Curmark to the team's website.
Sports director Lasse Svensson says this about the extensions:
- Jennifer and Filippa have been two of the most prominent players during this fantastic year.
That they now choose to stay is extremely gratifying.
It sends signals to the rest of football Sweden and all of Europe that Gothenburg FC is a fine association, a club where you develop and achieve success.
