Djurgården and Linköping have been hard hit by the corona virus in the season opener of the SHL and have had several matches postponed.

Therefore, both teams had only played nine matches before the evening, and on them also only scraped together nine points.

A victory was thus necessary for both teams, and Djurgården connected the grip directly.

Already after three minutes, William Eklund put 1-0 after he got a lot of space and found the goal with a quick shot.

Barely five minutes later, Linus Andersson also came 2-0 with a direct shot.

Djurgården jerked after LHC reduction

Linköping created some life in the match when Nikola Pasic put 2-1 four minutes into the second period, in a suspicious offside situation when he received the puck in the offensive zone.

But it did not get more fun than that for the away team.

Two minutes later, the former LHC player Niclas Bergfors made it 3-1 with a shot that LHC goalkeeper Jussi Rynnäs probably should have taken, and just over a minute later also came 4-1 through Jesper Pettersson.

The LHC goalkeeper replaced

After the fourth goal conceded, Rynnäs was replaced in favor of Niklas Lundström.

At the end of the period, Linköping reduced again through Jarno Kärki, but again Djurgården countered with a quick goal.

Sebastian Strandberg put 5-2 with one minute left until the break.

William Eklund fixed the final score to 6-2 with his second goal of the evening in the third period.
