The 2020-2021 NBA season will start well on December 22, this was confirmed by the North American Basketball League on Monday evening, after reaching an agreement with the players' union (NBPA) on the various terms of the recovery and on financial terms.

"This agreement must still be submitted to the vote of the board of directors of the league", bringing together the owners of franchises, said the two bodies in their joint press release.

Last Friday, the players voted in favor of the NBA plan, even if some would have preferred that the re-entry be around Martin Luther King Day (January 18), so as not to return to the courts too soon, the finalists from last season, Lakers and Heat, having played until mid-October.

The NBA and NBPA have reached an agreement to resume the 2020-2021 season.

The Draft set for November 18

The game will therefore restart for them a little over two months later, on Tuesday, December 22, but almost nine months later for eight clubs including the Golden State Warriors, who had not been affected by the end of the previous championship, after its interruption on March 11.

Each team will play 72 regular season games, the schedule of which will be revealed in the coming weeks.

The opening of the transfer market has been set for November 20, two days after the Draft.

This period of transactions should be extremely intense as the training camps will start only ten days later, from December 1st.
