Just three months after the start of the new season, everyone seems to be at their wit's end.

On Monday, it was Brazilian defender Thiago Silva who expressed his concern on Monday about injuries linked to the accumulation of matches, the fault of a hyper tight schedule due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

“You have to constantly reinvent yourself.

We lose players infected with Covid-19, or others who are injured because we play a lot of games.

We are not machines, ”said the Chelsea player at a press conference, a few hours after joining the Brazilian national team's training center in Teresopolis, near Rio de Janeiro.

Brazil is also paying the price

La Seleçao, which will face Venezuela on Friday and Uruguay on November 17, in qualifying matches for the 2022 World Cup, has been profoundly reshaped, with a cascade of forfeits due to injuries (Coutinho, Fabinho ...) and also to Covid- 19, for the middle Casemiro.

Affected in the adductors, Neymar is forfeited against Venezuela, but the staff hope that he will be recovered next week to face Celeste in Montevideo.

“We have seen recent studies showing that it is more likely that we get injured after having chained four or five games (every three days).

It is very worrying for us, ”insisted Thiago Silva.

The ex-captain of Paris SG assured that he was taking his preparation even more seriously because of his "advanced age", especially with regard to food.
