Second in the Tour de France six weeks ago, Slovenian Primoz Roglic, rider of the Jumbo-Visma team, won his second consecutive Tour of Spain on Sunday, at the end of the 18th and final stage.

This was won by the German Pascal Ackermann who beat the Irish Sam Bennett.

Primoz Roglic, second in the Tour de France six weeks ago, is ahead of Ecuadorian Richard Carapaz (Ineos) by 24 seconds in the final general classification and Briton Hugh Carthy (Education First).

Roglic took the leader's red jersey on Tuesday

Winner of four stages of this Vuelta shortened to 18 stages against 21 usually due to the Covid-19 pandemic, Roglic seized the leader's red jersey on Tuesday during the only time trial of the race.

Pascal Ackermann, who won the 9th stage following the downgrading of Irishman Sam Bennett, this time outstripped the rider of the Deceuninck.
