The Swede, who himself is fourth in the world rankings, had in a victory against Till been well placed to get a title match in middleweight (84 kilos).

Now, instead, a risky match awaits against Kevin Holland, 28. The American has lined up four straight victories this year and is chasing a fifth before the year is over.

However, he is not in the UFC's ranking - which ranks the top 15 challengers in each weight class - and in this way a Swedish victory would not push Hermansson higher up.

"The Joker" still chose to accept the match because he wants to stay active.

The last time Hermansson was in the cage, it ended with victory via submission (heel hook) after only 78 seconds against the star Kelvin Gastelum.

Jack Hermansson has won 21 of his 26 professional matches in his career compared to Holland who have 20-5 in record.
