It was in the final stages of the first half against Örebro on Sunday that Gothenburg striker Patrik Karlsson Lagemyr was injured and forced to leave the pitch.

The injury was found during an investigation on Monday.

What kind of injury is this, the club does not want to go into, but it was so extensive that surgery was needed.

On Friday morning, the club announced that the operation has been completed and went as planned.

Now, however, a long rehabilitation period awaits.

- At present, it is difficult to specify exactly how long rehabilitation is required, but the goal is for Paka to be back in the autumn season 2021, says Calle Persson, physiotherapist to the club.

But this is not the first time the 23-year-old has suffered a serious injury. Karlsson Lagemyr has previously had surgery for a crack in the foot and a stress fracture in the kneecap. And as recently as last summer, he tore off the cruciate ligament in a match against Östersund.
