It was the French newspaper Le Parisien that earlier this week said it had reliable sources for its information about playing the European Championships in one place, and that Russia was best placed to host it.

Now the European Football Association Uefa chooses to reject alleged changes for this summer's championship.

In a statement - which Sky Sports, among others, has read - Uefa writes that they stick to the original European Championship plan and that at present there are no thoughts of changing the structure.

Lars-Christer Olsson, chairman of Swedish elite football and representative in Uefa of the European professional clubs' organization EPFL, told TT earlier in the autumn that there is no deadline for when a decision must be made.

- If there is no vaccine that works or if there is a third wave this spring - then you are probably prepared to make a decision at short notice, he said.

Sweden plays in Group E together with Spain, Poland and a playoff winner.

Sweden is scheduled to play in Bilbao in Spain and in Dublin in Ireland.

The European Championships were supposed to have been played this summer, but were postponed for a year due to the corona pandemic.
