His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Executive Council, directed the organization of the "Dubai Cycling Challenge" on the 20th of this month, on Sheikh Zayed Road and in the center of the most prominent Dubai landmarks, such as: Burj Khalifa, Dubai World Trade Center, Downtown Dubai and the Gulf. Al Tejari and Dubai Water Canal, as part of the activities of the "Dubai Fitness Challenge 2020".

His Highness called on the Dubai community and the UAE in general to participate in this challenge, and His Highness said: “His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, has inspired us by his constant encouragement to practice sports, to organize this kind of events, in which all members of society of all ages can participate. On all levels of their physical fitness, the new challenge is consistent with our vision to transform Dubai into a friendly city for bicycles, and the goal is not competition, but to motivate society to practice sports and make it a way of life, and I invite everyone to share this new challenge, so that our society is healthy, active and able to give.

A press release said: “The (Dubai Cycling Challenge) includes a track for families for a distance of four kilometers, and another for a distance of 14 kilometers, and those over the age of five years and over can participate in the first track around (Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Boulevard), while the second track is designed for amateurs. Riding bicycles for ages 13 and over, and extends through Downtown Dubai, Business Bay, Dubai Canal and Sheikh Zayed Road.
