Visiting PSG took the lead already after six minutes when Dayot Upamecano was responsible for a completely unsuccessful home adaptation to the goalkeeper.

Angel Di Maria took advantage of that and put 1-0.

Shortly afterwards, Leipzig had a double chance to equalize, but Keylor Navas impressed in the goal.

Then it was close that Di Maria would capitalize on Upamecano's mistakes once again.

The ball took the Leipzig defender's hand and PSG were penalized, but Peter Gulasci made an impressive save.

Red card for PSG

A few minutes before the half-time break, Leipzig could instead equalize.

Emil Forsberg found Angelino who found Christopher Nkunku who thundered in 1-1.

In the 57th minute then came the decision.

A post with address Forsberg took on Prsenel Kimpembe's arm and the referee blew a penalty.

Forsberg got the confidence and put 2-1 nicely in the goalkeeper's left corner.

Then it was uphill for PSG, but it would get worse.

69 minutes into the match, the visitors' central line of defense had to look on as Idrissa Gana Gueye dashed through, knocking home 1 - 0 for Amadou Haidara.

In extra time, Kimpembe also received his second yellow card.

Now both he and Gana Gueye are suspended in the return match with Leipzig.

Forsberg's goal was the decisive one in the match and with a quarter left, the Swede was replaced in favor of Justin Kluivert.

With seven goals in the Champions League, Forsberg now shares the title as the club's best goal scorer in the Champions League with Timo Werner.

Werner left Germany for the London club Chelsea this summer.

Tough situation for PSG

This was the first time that PSG lost a lead to a loss in the Champions League group stage since 2014. For the Parisians, who played the CL final in August, it now looks a bit tough.

They are three points behind Leipzig and Victor Nilsson Lindelöfs Manchester United, who have taken two victories each.

Half of the matches remain in the group stage.
