  Among them, Li Quanhai, former vice chairman of the World Sailing Federation and director of the National Olympic Sports Center, was successfully elected as the new chairman of the World Sailing Federation and became the first Chinese chairman in the history of the World Sailing Federation.

Qu Chun, a member of the World Sailing Federation Rules Committee and Competition Management Committee, and the principal of Qingdao Nautical Sports School of the State Sports General Administration, was elected as the new council member of the World Sailing Federation, and the two will serve until 2024.

  World Sailing Federation was established in Paris in October 1907 and is the world sailing management agency recognized by the International Olympic Committee.

There are currently 145 member units of the World Sailing Federation. There were two rounds of the World Sailing Federation presidential election. 127 and 128 member units participated in the voting. The number of member units participating in the voting reached a record high.
