The Finnish national team defender Natalia Kuikka has been in Gothenburg's starting eleven in all matches this year.

But next year she will not play in Gothenburg.

Last night, the American NWSL club Portland Thorns FC announced that they have signed a two-year contract with the 24-year-old.

- Natalia is a key signing that we believe will strengthen our team in several ways as we now look ahead and prepare for the 2021 season.

She is a versatile and quality player with good physique, who we have followed for several years and are overjoyed to finally be able to take her to Portland, says the club's sports director Gavin Wilkinson, to the club's website.
