The Paris Tennis Masters tournament is held behind closed doors

The organizers of the Paris Masters men's tennis tournament confirmed that it will be held as scheduled next week, but behind closed doors, in compliance with the second closure announced by the French authorities across the country to limit the outbreak of the new Corona virus.

"After the recent decisions of the French government and the entry into another national lockdown in France from October 30th, the Rolex Paris Masters, which will be held at Accor Arena from October 31 to November 8, will be closed to the public," the French Tennis Federation announced in a statement.

The Paris Masters Prize, which is usually held at the "Bercy Arena" stadium, which seats 20,000 spectators, is worth 4.3 million euros.

World number two Rafael Nadal, who recently won his thirteenth title at the Roland Garros Championship in Paris, is ranked number one in the tournament.

The federation said that since the start of the global pandemic, "constant contact with the French government" has been worked out to determine the best way to organize the event.

The statement added that "as a result, the Federation took a responsible decision" to hold the tournament behind closed doors.

The federation added, "It is aware of the disappointment that people will feel in not being able to attend the tournament, but it would like to thank everyone for their understanding, and assure them that their tickets will be refunded as soon as possible.
