Chinanews.com client, October 27th. On the 26th local time, the International Court of Arbitration for Sports (CAS) ruled that the American para athlete Blake Ripa's application for wearing a prosthetic limb to participate in the Olympics and all competitions under the World Athletics Federation was rejected.

The IAAF subsequently issued a document on its official website expressing its support for the ruling of the International Court of Arbitration for Sports.

Blake Ripa was on the podium at the Paralympic Games. His main event is the 400-meter race.

In February of this year, Blake Lipa applied to the World Athletics Federation to wear the prosthesis currently used in the competition to qualify for the Tokyo Olympics.

The World Athletics Federation rejected his application on the grounds that assistive tools would give users an advantage in the competition.

In this regard, Blake Lipa appealed to the International Sports Tribunal.

The International Court of Arbitration for Sports believes that after wearing the existing prosthesis, Blake Lipa's legs are about 15 centimeters higher than ordinary human legs. The increase in height gives him a competitive advantage in the 400-meter race for about a few seconds.

In the end, the International Sports Arbitration Tribunal rejected Blake Ripa’s appeal, he was unable to wear the existing prosthesis to participate in the Olympics and other track and field events.

Last year, Blake Lipa won the 5th place in the men's 400 meters in the American Championships, reaching the Tokyo Olympics.

However, CAS's ruling eventually made Blake Lipa miss the Tokyo Olympics.
